Waterbury Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation is following the guidelines set forth by the Governor for both staff and visitors.
Since December, we have had 15 employees test positive for Covid with all of them having returned to work as per the guidelines for essential workers.
In addition, we have had 18 residents test positive with one currently completing quarantine, one expiration and 16 recovered residents.
We continue to monitor all residents for signs and symptoms of Covid and test accordingly. We continue to offer the vaccines including the booster shots when the resident is able to receive them.
Staff is expected to not work if they are experiencing any signs or symptoms of illness. Vaccine boosters are being offered to all staff in compliance with the most recent Governors mandate that all staff be boosted by February 11, 2022 (or have a valid medical or areligious exemption).
Visitors are required to show either proof of vaccination including booster, a Covid negative PCR test result within 72 hours or a Covid negative rapid test result within 48 hours of visiting. If the visitor cannot meet one of these requirements, a rapid antigen test will be given to them to take on site.
We thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we work together during these challenging times.
